Star Astrology versus Star Astronomy

Astrology – as different from star astronomy – is a belief like that in God more than it is a scientific body of knowledge in the strictest sense of the word though it played a great role as far as shaping the science of celestial bodies as far as its early phases of development were concerned.

It believes that the position of stars in the sky at the time of a person’s birth in a particular location along the latitudes and the longitudes on earth has a significant effect on the personality, traits, characteristics and tendencies of the person concerned shaping her/his future as it unfolds itself through her/his chronological journey in life.

The first historical records of its existence as a preserved body of knowledge have been found to be as old as from 3rd millennium BC. Till the Renaissance up until the 18th century it went step in step and hand in hand with star astronomy as two twins of the same mother before the two separated their paths altogether, one going in the direction of a scientific study of astronomical objects without any association with its said effect on the personal life of the individuals, which the other made its primary object of study.

Science considers astrology a pseudoscience at most if not outright superstition. But the votes of the masses all go in the favor of the latter though they don’t go against the former as well.

Something exactly like almost all the scientists having a firm belief in God though the science rejecting the whole concept as an unscientific, baseless superstition!
