Looking at it from the angle of this myth, Libra is to be seen pulled between Virgo or Persephone and Scorpio representing Hades, Lord of the underworld.

According to this pact Persephone was supposed to stay in the Underworld for one-third of the year with Hades, and the rest eight months she was allowed to come and stay on earth with her mother Demeter.
