What are astrology horoscopes?
A horoscope is a graphical representation of the positions, angles and the astrological aspects of planets at the time of a particular event. It 'looks at the hours' from a divine perspective peeping into its past, present and future together.
What is the most important aspect of this peeping inside the curtain of time is the zodiacal placement of the Sun when the event took place, thus identifying the Sun sign of the event or the person associated with the event, e.g., someone taking birth at a particular hour, which is considered to be the event of the greatest importance in a person's life shaping almost all her/his traits, characteristics, personality and tendencies.
The native, i.e., the time and place of the event is plotted at the center of the chart. The celestial sphere is plotted as a circle around the native as its center. The plane of the equator is the earth's equator projected in space. The plane of the ecliptic is plotted basing on the motion of the earth orbiting around the sun that itself is in motion along its ecliptic path across the heavens through twelve constellations on its way. The two planes - the plane of the equator and the plane of the ecliptic are inclined at an angle of 23.5 degrees to each other. The plane of the horizon is centered at the native and touches the earth tangentially.
There are four angles constituting the cardinal points of the astrology horoscopes, namely the Ascendant, the Midheaven, the Descendant and the Imum Coeli. The zodiac stays within a 16 degree wide band on the celestial sphere that contains all the twelve zodiac signs in it.
There are twelve houses as parts of the path of the sun through its ecliptic placed at an equal distance from one another denoted by an angle of 30 degrees on the circle of the ecliptic.
To frame the structure of a horoscope, the astrologer converts the local standard time of the event to Greenwich Mean Time, which again is converted to local sidereal time to calculate the ascendant and the midheaven. Then from an ephemeris, the location of the planets is determined. After this is constructed the local mean time of the event to ascertain the planets visible from its location when it happened. The twelve sectors of 30 degree each, i.e., the houses - in conjunction with the planets affecting them at the time the event took place - as astrology horoscopes foretell the tendency of the graph of the event through its past, present and future, i.e., its journey through time on earth.
